They took my money and did nothing!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
They took 2100 from me in promising they would triple my money in the next year to come. Actually promising me they would get my initial money back to me in the next three months. They only contacted me twice, after several phone calls from me. When they threw out 3 names of resorts, these resorts had no openings. Such a scam. I wish I knew how to obtain some of my money back these people scammed out of me. I have several documentations of attempted communication, and the resorts they offered with no openings. (In three years) Last I tried to call them I got either disconnected or no answer.

Scammed out of $2100

They sold us on buying 2 years of 4 weeks each year. They pretty much guaranteed we would receive $5600 within 90 days. This did not happen. We have followed up on the 12 offers we received over the span of almost 2.5 years. Now we don't receive any offers. They don't answer the phone and you get disconnected. We want our money back as they did not deliver said services. If there is a class action suit, let me know.

Yes, these *** are still scamming decent folks, They continue to make promises that they are sending offers that are viable, but the offers made aren't of any value. Avoid these scammers at all costs, please file a complaint with the Consumers Affairs division of the Federal Trade Commission. Let's get the federal government involved in the investigation of these crooks now!

Disgusting Leaches

I was taken for over $1200 by Matthew Downing. I did a little research. this little management punk boasts on social networking sites about how he scams people out of money all the while drawing disability for his little elf ears and is driving a $60K Lincoln navigator. If anyone else wants to contact him directly, his cell number is 321-246-**** and his home address is 155 Hidden Woods Cv, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. We have filed complaints with the BBB, Florida AG, and also submitted a fraud complaint regarding his disability fraud. This company is taking thousands from unsuspecting victims and the state of Florida refuses to do anything. They should all be in prison.

REM got us for $1200, guaranteed to sell for $15K in 6 mo.,then wanted $2400 for closing costs-NOT!

So glad this scamming fraud is out of business. They got us for $1300 in December 2008, to sell our timeshare-guaranteed within 6 months for $15,000 (We only paid $10K for it). They gave us a $1000 WORTHLESS "ON-LINE SHOPPING SPREE" (what a joke) when it didn't sell after six months, but it was for items that were'nt worth the shipping we'd have to pay. They finally did call with an offer after 2 years, but they wanted $2400 in closing costs upfront to process the transaction (like I wold give them more money!!??). They said the offer was for $18,000 in April of 2010 & the buyer was putting up $4200 from his Discover card, I hope the poor sap ran (if there really was one!). I HOPE BILL RICHARDS BURNS REAPS WHAT HE SOWS FOR HIS LIES.

REM is really not out of business as the owner just started another company and is running the same scam. The owner is Johnny Bryant and he is now operating a company called Exclusive Corporate Marketing.

Resort Equity Marketing is closed down by FL

They got us for $899.00. They are now closed & you can send a complaint to the State Atty Gen's Office in Florida. Also, to the Dept of Agriculture. These people had to be insured & bonded & the money should come from there. Never give any money up front & check the BBB always. I got this info from another company trying to sell my timeshare. Vacation Property Network in Orlando, Florida-They are not BBB accredited, but have a B+ rating with them. I am going to continue doing my homework on them before I make the decision to work with them. They ask for 2% of the selling price at closing, but when I asked for written paperwork, she blew me off. We will see. I now trust no one in this business.

I have also been scamed

Resort Equity Marketing took my money in 2003 and I never got a call back from them. I even gave them my Aunts restort in New Jersey and they did the same thing. This has to stop. I get about 2-3 calls a week from companies like this. When I would call them my listing was not even on there website. They said I had to call them every couple of months to keep my account active. The District attornys office in Florida needs to shut down all of these companies so now one else falls for the scamm.

Resort Equity Marketing (REM) Best known as REM your ***

I fell victim to this scam. I was contacted by REM to sell or rent my time share. I was told of all the ways they will advertise my timeshare. I join the other thousands of folks this company has screwed. The contract you sign is concrete. It only states they will advertise your timeshare on their worthless web site for the fee you paid. That is all you need to know. All the other words they mutter are lies. Plain and simple. I had my attorney and American Express after their sorry butts, but I did not win. Just lost more money. You are totally screwed if you sign the contract. So you might think it's not so bad advertising X amount of dollars to sale or rent your time share. Here is the knife in the back. If you do not contact them in 90 days letting them know you have not rented or sold your time share, you are off the worthless web site. In my case I paid $895.00 for 90 days of advertising on a sorry web site. That is very expensive advertising. If you call and complain, will it's your falut you did not contact them in 90 days. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Just a bit of info. One of they guys running this scam is Matthew Downing. His personal cellular number is 321-246-****, and his home address is 155 Hidden Woods Cv, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.

He is one of the managers and will boast about how he is paid 50% of the money that his telemarketers scam out of you.

I too was scammed. And I knew better.

But they got my 799 with the guarantee that there was a conference in Orlando and they were sure to rent it for some crazy amount. I fell for it and bye bye money.

I was recently contacted by Lanston and Associates about retrieving my money for me but of course they wanted 59.99 to send me the claim form.

NOT!! Go F off!!!

REM = FRAUDE

Lamentablemente he sido otra victima de REM, (Resort Equity marketing). Todo lo prometido y escritio en el contrato es falso. Son puras mentiras. Me robaron 850 dólares. We offer some different options for timeshare owners who have fell victim to the Rental/Resale scam. The CEO of Exchange International is the former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida and works with a Florida based law firm that drafts letters on behalf of victims. Coupling this benefit with a FREE site that enables owners of properties to Rent/Exchange and Donate their current week for a 501 (c) 3 tax deductible receipt. Our services are NOT free, however 2 letters are drafted on behalf of the owners who have been taken advantage of by a Florida based law firm and where the only thing necessary for the owner to do is to sign their name and put it in the mail.

We understand that not EVERY rental/resale company is a scam however 99.8% of them in our experience are. The information that we provide is copywritten, trademarked and proprietary to Exchange International. We help right the wrong. If you are interested in hearing about the services we provide during this segment of your ownership contact 407-215-**** or www.exchangeinternational.com .

We wish you the best of luck in whatever venue you decide to pursue.

Resort Equity Marketing - RIP OFF

We are nearing ONE YEAR and have received ZERO phone call related to the sale of our Orlando property. Resort Equity Marketing (REM) charged us over $1000 to list property with CLAIM it would be sold within 180 days. NOTHING. We got the credit for property not being sold of about $1000 - problem is the products listed for $50 can be brought at Dollar Store for a DOLLAR. AND then we would be charged a PER ITEM cost to process which was more then we would pay at Dollar Store. AND they seem to sell our name and property info. PLEASE Avoid Resort Equity Marketing AT ALL COST !!!!!!!

Resort Equity Marketing Altamonte Springs is a Scam!

Sine I paid REM $1000 on october 16, 2009 I have not had any contact with them. I have attempeted multiple times to call, left word but no response and never any no contact. I have E-Mailed them several times, no response! I was sucked into this by being directed to a You-Tube presentation with William Shatner praising the company for all the wonderful work they were doing to help owners sell or rent their unused credits for cash. The whole thing is a Huge Sham using William Shatner to promote their agenda. Shame on you Mr. Shatner! Citi Card was of no use getting a refund! They said they couldn't do anything because I received a service? Service? I guess Citi believes being shafted is a service! I would suggest you stay away from them too! The Florida Attorney General knows about REM! My next step is to file a complaint with the Attorney General. You may get the complaint form from the State of Florida web site. Don't be the next victim of REM!

Resort Equity Marketing Rip OFF

I too, learned a lesson. I canceled my contract and was contacted by Fred Lewis suppose to be a big *** over control of inventory. Told me if I would agree to a $200.00 reduction and sign the contract, he had clients standing by and I would get a call in a few days. Never happened, and one year later NO Calls!! Here is the deal. Read the contact they send you. It only states they will advertise the Time Share on there web site. This it. I complained to AMX, lost because my ad was listed on the web site. Nothing matters what they say to you on the phone. They are selling advertising on a worthless website. Nothing you can do. No one will call or even attempt to call. It is a huge scam. The kicker to the web site and contact is the 90 day terms they give. IF you do not contact REM withing the 90 days and tell them the Time Share is still for sale or rent, they drop you of the web site. If one the REM reps call you and tell you everything you want to hear, you will be hooked. Please be careful with this company. I have complained to everyone that would listen. It all comes to the contract. If you sign the contact and mail it back in, your are totally screwed. If they charge your card before you get the contract, as they did with me, you are still OK. Call your credit card company and tell them you never signed a contract and did not give them permission to charge your card. You will win. If you sign you will pay. No question asked. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company.

I hope this fraudulent company can/will be prosecuted. I also fell into their trap for US$ 1695,=.

My property would be rented/sold within three months. Didn't really wanted to sell but rather put it for rent. This smooth talker promised I would be called regularly. None of the above.

I'm a really pissed costumer.

This all happened in march 2010. Do they still do business and if so what can I legally do against them from outside the United States?

Resort Equity Marketing took my $1100 and has done nothing

Resort Equity Marketing called me and made promises to me that they would get my unused RCI weeks rented. They charged me an upfront fee of $1100 and said it was guaranteed. I received the paperwork which I signed and returned and kept waiting for something that reflects the guarnteed they spoke of and also mentioned on the Paperwork. Nothing ever received mentiong what that gurantee was. Now a few months later I can not get a response back from them. I am sure I am not the only *** that has given them money and saw no return as promised.

I was told on the phone by a rep at REM that I had to pay an initial fee of $299 for them to list my timeshare for sale/rent. I was told if not sold within 180 days, it would be refunded.

Apparantly, my contract stated that i had to call every 90 days to renew and NO REFUNDS!!!

ARE YOU F>>>ING SERIOUS!?!?! So the reps there are obviously liars and they put your timeshare on a website and it sits there...doing nothing...

Do not do business with:

Resort Equity Marketing

801 West SR 436, Suite 2101

Altamonte Springs, FL 32714

800-672-**** Toll Free Number

Their sales people create an urgency to list with them stating that they deal with convention businesses that want to buy Bluegreen points so they can have their employees stay at a Bluegreen resort during a convention. They create an urgency that some convention is coming to town and that you need to act quickly. They promise that they will sell your timeshare within 180 days. But once you sign, you will NEVER be able to speak with the sales rep again. Instead, you will only speak with a customer server rep who claims they are only obligated to advertise your property. Basically, in your face I stoled your money and there is nothing you can do about it. These people lie and are not ethical. I do not know why the Florida Attorney General does not shut them down.

Beware!

Guest

I bought a time share, after they brain washed me, they told me theuy can rented for me if I don't wanted to use it, so I called the resort reservation and ask them to rent my week, because I was not going to go that year, so they called me and they said, they rent only 3 days, and I told them but I own one week so if you cant rent the who week, I should be able to use those four days, because they are mind, they said "no because i already rent it out my week, but they did not rent the who week, so for That I should get back what ever is not rented out because is mine and I paid for it. I felted I been lied and riped off, I meet so many unhappy owners, and they always give you a hard time to get your vacation booked.

So they take your money, but you don't get for what you pay.

I paid $14K for one week every year at Ocean front, I am not able to used it when I wanted, and they don't buy it back. I like to know is there any kind of law that can help time share owners, I even paid to rented it out, and there I got rip off also, all they do they

put your time share for sell for you,and charge you $500, and all they do is they have a web site and they post you time share there, I can do that.

Resort Equity Mortgage- bait and switch

I signed a contract with Resort Equity Mortgage to rent out my timeshare in Orlanda, Florida. I paid approx 900 bucks in February 2008. To date, I have not received a call or prospect on the rental property. In addition, I was informed via telephone that if the property is not rented within 6 months, I would receive a full refund. However, when I called back to inquire about my refund, I was informed that a $1000.00 certificate to Elite Network would be sent out for internet shopping. I have left several messages, to no avail. I'm shocked. They were recommended by the Better Business Bureau.

I just spoke with a cust svc rep today and mine wasn't as much, but i lost $300. I was also told 180 day sold or money back guarantee....then i get told on the phone that is not true.

REALLY?? I am reading all of your posts and it looks like we were all told the same things by the sales rep....we should sue them...sounds like alot of people lost more money than i did!

Guest

I, too, was told that there would be a money back guarantee if the property was not sold within 180 days. When I called to take utilize this guarantee, I was told that they do not make any such claims.

I even had the name of the people I first spoke to. I have recently learned about several advertising companies that "scam" people like us all the time. I believe REM is one of them. Going on the BBB website and there are cautions about companies like REM.

I wish I had done so before this contract. I would not have wasted $1000!
