I listed and sold, but in the interim I knew enough to make payments...

I listed my property, and sold after 120 days. While it was for sale I continued payments, why would the other "angry consumer" blame the company for being sued? Aren't you intelligent enough to continue to make your payments per your contract? Why would you blame anyone else because of your own financial irresponsibility? Why not just blame the resort for selling it to you? After I listed it took about two months before I started to get offers, granted I didn't like them all, but I was patient and got very close to what I wanted. They were upfront with me, and I read my contract thoroughly, so I knew I had to call in to keep it current. Yes, it can be a pain, but since it's neccessary, we did it, and it finally paid off!

I too have been with REM for over 7 years, and year after year the results have been consistent. I referred a dear friend to them and he found this site and showed it too me and after showing him copies of my rental checks he finally signed up. He still owes me beers after he received his rental income after only a couple months. He had weeks that he had banked and rented those as well.

So my husband comes home and tells me he "forgot" to tell me about the fact he just spent a lot of money and maxed out our credit cards a few weeks ago. A few weeks later after that I began speaking to him again, and I researched and found this thread... I was scared to death. I contacted my lawyer and while waiting to hear from him, a person called and it was a renter in the range as quoted. Come to find out one of my husbands co-workers has been renting his timeshare for years through REM. For once something wasn't to good to be true

that is such an easy question to answer. a timeshare is not conventional real estate. also for proof of that. if u own it free and clear. try to take a home equity loan out on it. you cant!!

How do we (who are checking this company out before deciding) know you are not working for REM? I find it kind of weird that you would have to pay a fee just to list a property. Real Estate agents don't charge a fee for listing a property. They get their $ after the sale. I don't buy it! (Pun intended!)
